A successful marching band program is dependant upon a strong winter percussion program, and only students (other than freshmen) who successfully complete the winter percussion season will be eligible to audition for the drum line/front ensemble in the marching band for the 2009 competitive season.
Our primary performance venues are hosted by the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association (R.M.P.A.). The ensemble will attend as many of these competitions as can be budgeted each year. Most of the competitions are in or around the Denver metro area and travel will be provided to and from the event. The percussion class members of the ensemble will also be required to participate in the C.H.S.A.A. Solo and Ensemble festival as well as perform with the H.H.S. Wind Symphony.
