Stadium. Students should enter the building at the
North entrance through the chain-link fence.
WHAT WILL
I DO AT BAND CAMP?
d
1) Play
your instrument, A LOT! Make sure you practice over
the summer so you can still play at band camp!
2)
Learn/Remember how to march and march and play
simultaneously
3) Work
in sectionals to unify articulations, intonation and style
and memorize music as a group
4) Learn
Drill (how to find your spots so the band makes cool
pictures on the field)
5) Put
together as much as possible of our field show.
Remember, the more we learn in band camp, the better we do
at state.
6) Make
TONS of friends and feel like you accomplished
something really important (because you did)!
WHAT DO I
NEED FOR BAND CAMP?

1) Your
Instrument in Good Working Order. This means that
your reeds should be broken-in and your slides should be
moving smoothly.
2) A Lyre
and a Flip Folder for holding music. Flutists will need
the arm-strap type. They are readily available and very
affordable at Graner Music stores.
3) A 1/2"
3-Ring Binder to use on the field as your set book.
4)
PENCILS! PENCILS! PENCILS! PENCILS! PENCILS! PENCILS!
5) Cool,
light-colored clothing
6) Hats,
Sunglasses, Shades
7)
Tennis/Athletic Shoes - ABSOLUTELY NO SANDALS OR
OPEN-TOED SHOES! Blisters will not be an excuse.
8)
SUNSCREEN!
9) Water
Bottle - A large water cooler and cups are provided
for students, but it is acceptable to bring your own bottle.
10) Towel
- Incase of rain and to set your horn on - the turf
can get pretty hot in early August.
